These lakes are situated in an early 15th century established estate, situated within the grounds of Bolebroke Castle which is surrounded by one of the finest settings in East Sussex, and Kent borders.

The lakes are situated in Hartfield East Sussex off the B2026, 10 minutes from Edenbridge, 25 minutes from Tunbridge Wells and 45 minutes from London.

We offer one of the finest secluded and safe fisheries for novice to experienced anglers and their families and friends.

We would like you to come and fish or visit our well stocked mixed fishery lakes, that have pegs and swims that are varied with natural banks and some man made pegs and swims for pure comfort. The lakes has several various species of quality fish ranging from all shapes and sizes up to 30lb.

Roach, (Carp, wild, mirror, common, Grass, Crucian, Koi), Perch, Chubb, Tench, Bream, Gudgeon, Dace, Highbred Roach/bream.
 

These lakes have recently been stocked and have an ongoing re-stocking programme by one of Kent’s finest fish farmers Riverfield fish farm, (Monk Lakes).

We also have within the grounds a second lake, which we use as a stock pond, which unfortunately is out of bounds for fishing, but this does produce its own natural species of quality fish for our main lake, the two lakes feed into each other, flowing under the bridge and over the steps.

The lakes are situated off road, with controlled parking, security and CCTV, which makes it a safe place within the environment, trouble free for all anglers to come and fish with peace of mind.

We do encourage people to come and join us and our members, to see for themselves that it is an enjoyable place to visit and fish, also to come and enjoy the surroundings and settings within the medieval castle estate grounds.

We do encourage non anglers to join us for those who may like to watch the fishing, take photos, paint a picture, read a book or even just to see the fantastic wild life that is on offer throughout the visit.

This venue offers some fantastic activities and services not only for the fishing.

It also offers you the opportunity to see the scenes around the medieval castle grounds and inside the castle on a guided tour, Shooting, archery, pooh country side tours, medieval functions, costume hire and much much more, even to be able to ride on one of the finest miniature railways to be seen, offering a multitude of various locomotives and steam engines. We also offer corporate fishing days and corporate events for the non anglers.

Our aim is to develop angling for the young and old, for all genders, and to encourage the local community to take part without any pressures in a wonderful and relaxed Environment.

The lakes are constantly patrolled by our own bailiffs and the owner of the lakes for everyone’s safety and security.

The lakes are fed by various streams constantly running all year round, the lakes were originally several streams and then dug out into two separate stream fed lakes, this was done by Henry the 8th and his merry men, these then feed one of the finest rivers known as the river Eden once water leaves the lakes.
It has depths ranging from 2 feet into depths of 10 feet in certain parts of the lake.

We offer a strict selective limited Membership, by season or on a yearly basis, which ever suits the individual’s needs.

We also offer limited day tickets for member’s guests and guests by request only, these can be posted, delivered or from our local tackle dealers or we can arrange with the bailiff on the day, with prior arrangement before hand.

If not why not visit the Farm shop situated at the entrance of the bridal path road entrance, were you can purchase drinks, ice creams and snacks.

The farm also offers a very large pick your own fruits and vegetables and a wide range of ciders, apple juices and home grown produce.

Fishing times are from Dawn till Dusk unless prior arrangements are made for 24 hour or night fishing sessions, discounts can apply at request.

We have very strict rules set out, and these rules should not be broken, we operate a zero tolerance policy which will result loss of membership or future day tickets if rules are broken, all members are responsible for their guests and day ticket guests will be monitored by our bailiffs and members at all times.

No current fishing licence, no fishing, no exceptions these are as set out by the governing body the Environment Agency.

We have recently had our lakes surveyed by the Environment Agency and have been given a very supportive response and 100% satisfactory survey of quality and healthy fish.

We will continue to take advice from the Environment Agency and stock our lakes when they feel best, until sufficient stock levels are in place.

All of our members will carry a photo identification card, which will be carried at all times.

Each member will display a current season ticket sticker on their vehicle whilst parked in the designated parking areas by the oak tree on the left hand side of the bridal path before the castle entrance; please DO NOT Park on the bend.

Parking shall be kept to a limit by the oak tree going away from the castle entrance with a limit of approximately x5 cars or x4 vans, all other vehicles will need to be parked in the castle grounds rear car park as directed by the owner please go to the castle lobby entrance for details.

The entrance to the Lake grounds should be via the white gate and the gate should be shut at all times after entering the grounds, all swims should be entered anti clockwise.

The top lake is out of bounds for fishing, fishing is permitted on the bottom lake only.

Please respect others as you would want to be respected yourself, do not interfere with any other person or persons whilst fishing or visiting the lakes or castle grounds and surrounding residential areas.

Do not touch the miniature railway trains or track, and please do not walk on the lines when finding your swim or visiting.

Please take all your rubbish away with you and respect the surroundings and settings whilst fishing or visiting the lakes grounds.

Toilets are available inside the castle, please respect the facilities provided and be as quite as possible when entering the entrance leading up to the castle and the castle grounds, as this is open to the general public and it is also used as a B&B.

This is a very highly respected area and an honour to be able to come and enjoy the fishing and sites of the fifteenth century hunting lodge, lakes, as seen on TV and documentaries’ for its regular paranormal sightings and history.
